Ukwa or African breadfruit is a plant food that grows in wet and forest areas. It's a pure tropical fruit. The seeds comes in small sizes and cooks for long before its done. Ukwa can be prepared in different forms but the most common form is cooking until it's done and then it's mashed like a mashed potatoe. Cooking Ukwa requires a degree of patience, it is not a meal you can fix very quick but has fantastic taste and fills you up quick.
Ukwa is widely eaten all over the central and West African region, different cultures in these regions prepare Ukwa in their own ways which comes out well and delicious.
